CHIMPANZEES:AN UNNATURAL HISTORY 57 min
The history of
chimps in our society is a history unlike any other. We have sent them into
space, dressed them in costumes and demanded that they entertain us. Many have
been used to test our drugs or to help develop our vaccines. While we are
mesmerized by their likeness to our species and we have continually found uses
for chimps, we never considered their wants or needs. But their side of the
story is starting to emerge. And it can be heard at the sanctuaries where many
retired chimps now reside.

AFRICA’S OUTSIDERS
This is the story
of three African animals that nature has repainted with extraordinary new
colors. They are the Outsiders: a White Lion, a Yellow Crocodile and a White
Baboon. To be born an 'outsider' is a rare and dramatic event. Animals with
startlingly different colors face completely new challenges. They are not
well-camouflaged for the habitat they were born into, so they must work harder
to survive. This film tells their story in the innovative form of an African
fable. Along the way, we'll meet a host of other fascinating characters like a
pink hippo, a black leopard and even a striped cheetah! (50 min)

CLIMATE CHAOS SEASON
Narrator and
host, David Attenborough has spent a long career exploring and celebrating the
wonders of the natural world. But now he asks, is that world under threat from
the impact of climate change? In the first of two programs, he explores just
how far climate change is altering our planet and he searches for evidence that
it is our daily activities that are radically changing our climate, leaving the
future of Planet Earth largely up to us. In the second program, Attenborough
looks into the future to find out what needs to be done to save Planet Earth
from the worst impact of global warming. He discovers what could happen to the
planet once a Ņtipping pointÓ of carbon emissions is reached, and searches for
the solutions we can adopt to prevent catastrophic change. (117:35 in two
parts)
